Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At Lifecare Counselling, we understand that reaching out for support takes courage. You should feel safe knowing that what you share with us stays with us. Confidentiality is the foundation of the trust between a counsellor and a client, and we treat it with the highest importance.

What We Keep Confidential

  • Your name, contact details, and any personal information you provide
  • Everything discussed in your counselling sessions, whether in person, by phone, or online
  • Session notes and records
  • Details you share through our website, including enquiry and appointment forms

Who Will Not Be Told

We do not share your information with family members, friends, employers, schools, or any other third party without your clear consent. This applies even to confirming whether you are a client of Lifecare Counselling.

Limits of Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a strong promise, but it is not absolute. In rare situations, we may need to share limited information:

  1. Risk of serious harm: if there is a serious risk to your life or safety, or to someone else’s.
  2. Legal requirement: if disclosure is required by law or by a court order.
  3. Safety of children or vulnerable persons: if we learn that a child or vulnerable person is at risk of abuse or harm.

In such cases, we will share only the minimum information needed. Wherever possible, we will talk to you first.

Your Consent

If sharing information would help you, for example with a doctor or another professional, we will do so only with your written permission. You may withdraw that permission at any time.

Records and Data Protection

  • Session notes and client records are stored securely and are accessible only to authorised counsellors.
  • Information collected through this website is used only to respond to your enquiry and arrange your sessions.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or marketing companies.
  • Records are retained only as long as necessary and are then securely deleted.

Online and Phone Sessions

For online or phone sessions, we recommend using a private space where you will not be overheard. We use secure platforms where possible, but we cannot control the privacy of your own device or location.

Your Rights

You may ask us at any time to:

  • Explain how your information is used
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your enquiry or contact details, subject to legal requirements
